Learning about pirates
Pirate Ron is a very funny and very silly pirate who will soon have the children joining in, laughing and learning.
The session is age appropriate and includes discovering fascinating facts about pirates, their lives, and legendary tales. The history of pirates. Who became a pirate, and why? What was life like on a pirate ship? Were there any girl pirates? What was pirate food like?
We cover all sorts of interesting things about pirates which teachers can explore and expand on later if they so wish.
Pirate puppet show
This show was first performed in schools in 2009 and has been delighting school audiences from London and the South East up to the Scottish Borders ever since.
This is a one man show narrated by Pirate Ron who also works the puppets. It has a lovely story and a fantastic cast of larger than life puppet characters.
The show has lots of humour and lots of audience participation. The children absolutely love every minute and most teachers thoroughly enjoy it too.
Making a pirate puppet
This is a brilliant craft activity which is accessible to all ability levels.
Younger children and those who may need help can still have a go and achieve a finished figure. More able children can exercise their creativity. So everybody can enjoy taking part and will have something to show at the end.
Ron gives an entertaining demonstration at the beginning, the children then work under the supervision of their class teacher with Ron providing resources and support where needed.
Children stay enthusiastically engaged from the very first “Ahoy!” to the last wave goodbye. Pirate Ron’s larger-than-life personality and playful approach ensure children are laughing, learning, and joining in throughout. With so much excitement, students remember their Pirate Day experience long after the workshop ends, all while covering educational essentials that enrich their studies.
