Helping to make learning fun since 2005

Ron founded Workshops for Schools in 2005 and has since delivered memorable learning experiences in more than 1,000 schools.

From Pirates and Romans to seaside history, puppetry and Magic Maths, his aim is always the same: to give children an exciting day with real educational substance. Information, humour, questions, stories and practical activity are carefully combined so that pupils enjoy taking part and remember what they have learned.

Ron is comfortable with groups large and small. He adjusts his language, pace and activities for the age, ability and needs of the children in front of him, while working with school staff to keep the day organised and purposeful.

A family partnership

Ron, Hazel and Jolly Good Productions

Workshops for Schools is operated by Jolly Good Productions, the partnership run by Ron and his wife, Hazel, from Richmond in North Yorkshire.

Ron plans and delivers the workshops himself, so schools know who will be arriving on the day. Hazel supports the administration behind the visits. Together they offer schools a personal, straightforward service—from the first enquiry and quotation to the completed workshop.

Visits are available to primary schools across England, with travel included clearly in each quotation.

Safeguarding and reassurance

Designed to work safely within your school day

School staff remain responsible for pupils and are present throughout each visit; Ron does not work alone with children. He holds current DBS certificates, including an Enhanced DBS obtained through his angling coaching role. Certificate and insurance information can be supplied to schools on request.

Any access, room layout, additional needs or timetable questions can be discussed before the visit so the day is suitable for your school.
