Practical information
What we normally need from your school
Exact requirements vary between workshops. Your booking information will confirm everything for the experience you choose.
A suitable room
A hall or classroom with enough safe working space for the group and activities. Some workshops require room for sets, props or performance equipment.
Access and parking
Please provide arrival instructions and, where possible, parking reasonably close to the entrance because Ron brings equipment into school.
School staff present
A teacher or appropriate member of school staff must remain with pupils and retain responsibility for behaviour and welfare throughout.
Help with transitions
Staff support when bringing groups in, organising breaks and moving between activities helps everyone get the most from the day.
Timings and group sizes
Built around your school day
Workshop pages give an example structure, but timings can usually be adapted around registration, breaks, lunch and home time. Tell us how many classes or pupils you would like to include and we will suggest a workable plan.
Accessibility and additional needs
Tell us what will help
Please share relevant information about mobility, communication, sensory or learning needs when booking. Ron can then consider the room layout, pace, language and participation in advance with your staff.
Safeguarding and documents
Reassurance before the visit
Supervised school visits
These are one-off visits with school staff present. Ron does not work alone with children and school staff remain responsible for pupils.
DBS information
Ron holds current DBS certificates, including an Enhanced DBS obtained through his angling coaching role. Details can be supplied on request.
Insurance
Evidence of public liability insurance can be provided to the school before the visit.

Which areas do you visit?
Workshops are available to primary schools across England. The quotation will take account of travel from Richmond, North Yorkshire, and will show the complete price clearly.
Do you bring all the equipment?
Ron brings the workshop-specific presentation equipment, props and agreed activity materials. Your booking information will identify anything the school needs to provide.
Can the day be adapted for our timetable?
Yes. When you provide your school-day timings, pupil numbers and class arrangements, Ron can suggest a structure that works around breaks and lunch.
Can more than one class take part?
Usually, yes. The best arrangement depends on the workshop, ages and pupil numbers. Include those details in your enquiry and we will recommend a suitable plan.
How far ahead should we book?
Popular curriculum dates can fill early, so it is worth enquiring as soon as you have a preferred period. If you have several possible dates, include them in your message.
What information should I include in my enquiry?
Please give the school name and postcode, workshop required, preferred date or dates, year group, number of pupils, school-day timings and any important additional needs.
